A Gathering of Experts: Could you describe where you grew up?
C. Frederick Wehba: Certainly. My hometown is Crowell, a rural prairie town in Texas that had once been inhabited by the Comanches.
A Gathering of Experts: What were your favorite activities as a youth?
C. Frederick Wehba: In my childhood, the best way to spend a summer way was riding the dusty streets on my trusty bicycle.
A Gathering of Experts: Where did your journeys take you?
C. Frederick Wehba: More often than not, I’d point my wheels towards my father’s grocery store in the heart of town.
A Gathering of Experts: Were you given the opportunity to work there?
C. Frederick Wehba: Oh, yes! As a teen, I spent countless hours ringing up customers and stocking shelves.
A Gathering of Experts: How else did you spend your time?
C. Frederick Wehba: In high school, I learned how to play trumpet and eventually became an Eagle Scout.
A Gathering of Experts: How have these experiences been so central to your development?
C. Frederick Wehba: In my career as a real estate investor, it’s been important to use shrewd business tactics while still treating people with great respect.
A Gathering of Experts: Besides real estate, what are your other interests?
C. Frederick Wehba: With the guiding hand of my wife Susan, I’ve had ample opportunity to help my local community in a number of ways.

C. Frederick Wehba: The Cedars Sinai Medical Center is particularly close to my heart, as well as the Dove Foundation.
A Gathering of Experts: Are there certain causes that have captured your interest?
C. Frederick Wehba: Education is a major priority.
A Gathering of Experts: With which educational groups have you collaborated?
C. Frederick Wehba: Several, but my associations with Alliance College-Ready Schools and the Boy Scouts of America have been incredibly rewarding.
